Start at Bronze. Train for Gold.
Three clear, safety-first standards that show how far your skills have come, with a certificate at every level.
Bronze Shooter
Safe hands. Steady start.
Finish Learn to Shoot and earn the Bronze Shooter title.
Then take the Bronze test: show safe handling and basic accuracy up close.
Untimed, 3 to 7 yards, 12 of 15 hits.
Silver Shooter
Skills you can prove.
Timed drills at longer distance, plus a reload and malfunction clear.
Timed, out to 10 yards, 20 of 25 hits.
Plus 3 lesson credits after Bronze, 30 days.
Gold Shooter
The standard others train for.
Advanced timed drills, including strong-hand shooting.
Brisk timed drills, each hand alone, 27 of 30 hits.
Plus 6 more credits after Silver, 90 days.
Your path to Gold
- Start with a class: Learn to Shoot, the 2-hour CCW lesson, or a private lesson with us.
- Pass the Bronze test: untimed, 3 to 7 yards, 12 of 15 hits. You earn your Bronze certificate.
- Keep training: earn 3 lesson credits after Bronze (a 1-hour lesson counts 1, a 2-hour lesson counts 2) and wait at least 30 days.
- Pass the Silver test: timed, out to 10 yards, 20 of 25 hits, plus a reload and malfunction clear. You earn your Silver certificate.
- Go further: earn 6 more credits after Silver and wait at least 90 days.
- Pass the Gold test: brisk timed drills, each hand alone, 27 of 30 hits. You earn a numbered Gold certificate and a Gold Shooter T-shirt.
- Stay Gold: re-test once a year (27 of 30) to keep your Gold current.
Who can start: the Bronze test is open to Learn to Shoot, concealed carry (CCW) and private lesson students.
Certificates recognize skills shown at our range in NW Leon County, FL. They are not a license or permit.
