Background & Pedigree

Dustin Brock is the owner and instructor for Armor Firearms & Training and is born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. Dustin currently works as a law enforcement (LE) officer with a local law enforcement agency and is currently a 20 year law enforcement veteran. Dustin began his learning and love for firearms when he joined the law enforcement ranks as a deputy sheriff in 2003 when he entered and graduated the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy (Now, called the Florida Public Safety Institute).

Dustin obtained his NRA Pistol Instructor Certificate in 2013, Law Enforcement (LE) General Instructor Certificate in 2012, LE Firearms Instructor Certificate and LE Driving Instructor Certificates in 2013. While Dustin worked full-time as a sworn law enforcement (LE) officer, he served as an adjunct instructor within his agency. Dustin has trained and been involved in the training of many law enforcement officers in pistol, rifle, and shotgun.

Dustin mentored local youth in a local LE Explorer Program associated with the Florida Sheriff’s Association (FSA). Along with other deputies, Dustin was integral in the development and as lead instructor in a 40-hr Youth Shooting Academy where he taught youth from across the region in all aspects of firearms safety, handling, marksmanship, competition and tactical pistol techniques.

While working with the Youth Shooting Academy, Dustin was also heavily involved in developing a competitive youth shooting team that competed across the State of Florida in many counties in the state. His pistol teams won many of these, and other shooting competitions throughout the state for several years and established one of the elite shooting teams in the state and region. During this time, Dustin also served as the FSA’s Statewide Range Master running many of the pistol competitions around the State of Florida.

Dustin took the best shooters of this group and assisted in developing a steel shooting team that competed in the firearms industry-backed, Scholastic Steel Shooting Program. This team competed all over the State of Florida and the Southeast Region and his team placed in the top tier of a national championship shooting tournament held in Sparta, Illinois. Dustin's steel shooting team ultimately won four gold medals during this time of competition and his team won thousands of endowment shooting dollars backed by Midway USA and other firearm industry companies like Glock, Smith & Wesson, etc., that supported all of his shooting teams.

About seven years ago, after seeing poor firearms instruction in the area, and companies that placed profit over quality of training, Dustin decided to begin teaching LE and competitive shooting skills to the public. As of today, Dustin has now trained hundreds of people-both male and female, old and young, inexperienced to experienced, and many other types of people from many diverse backgrounds how to shoot pistols, rifles, and shotguns for personal protection and sport. Dustin's top classes are the concealed weapon permit courses and private lessons. To cap all of this off, Dustin also has a current Federal Firearms License (FFL) with the ATF and sells firearms in his home-based business to customers and students.
